Five people died on that day and he was one of them. When he was a soul, he would run away and live in fear until a shinigami came. The Shinigami told him about Soul Society and the Shinigamis. When he was sent to Soul Society, He decided he wanted to be a shinigami and try to protect everyone.

Personality: Shina is determined and smart. He likes to make friend s and loves to travel. He doesn't like to wear the shinigami uniform so he just wears average clothing he wore when he was living in Boston. (Usually he gets in trouble because of it)
